A Weekend Blog/ Boyfriend’s Birthday Celebrations!

I’m writing  this post on a Monday morning whilst getting over a weekend of excessive cake eating and hot cider drinking! Here’s why: December is a fantastic month in my house, not only do we have Christmas and New Year but it is also the birthday of a very special guy in my life, my other half.

This year was his first birthday in our new city of Liverpool and I wanted to make sure it was one he’d remember.

It started on the wee hours of Saturday morning when I surprised him with birthday cake and Buck’s Fizz in bed. A delicious combination if I do say so myself. Jake also opened his presents and cards at this time too. It was so lovely to see his little boyish grin when he opened everything!

After getting ready I decided it would be best to spend the day doing things Jake loves. This includes a trip to the Liverpool World Musuem where neither of us had ever been before. Jake loves history so I was happy to do something he loves on his day. The Musuem was quite interesting surprisingly! It had a huge Aquarium where we found Nemo, a dinosaur exhibit and a exhibit on different cultures of the world where I found some gorgeous ugg boots!

Afterwards we visited the Liverpool Christmas Markets as Jake loves doing Christmas related things on his birthday. The markets were ridiculously busy as they were right next to the amazing Dreamworks Christmas Illuminations but it was nice to get festive. We both got a hot gin from one of the market stalls and talked about our favourite childhood Christmas memories.

To finish off Jakes 24th Birthday celebrations we headed for some of our favourite food, Mexican of course! And toasted to Jake turning 24 with a mojito in hand!

And that was how we celebrated. I hope you guys enjoyed this little weekend blogpost. I promise they’ll be more Christmas ones as we get closer and closer to the festive season!
