LVL LASH LIFT: A REVIEW

We’ve all heard the spiel about LVL (if you haven’t seriously, have you lived under a rock?!)

LVL stands for Lift, Volume and Lengthen, which is the effect that it supposedly leaves on your lashes. Curious, I decided to try it out as I’m always in the market for a good lash solution and the idea of never having to wear falsies again was too good to resist.

Naturally, I already have quite long dark lashes but it was the volume and curl that appealed to me.

The treatment costed £45 and I had to do a patch test 48 hours beforehand, I strongly advise you getting a patch test if you get this or any other type of eye treatment like this done just to be safe.

I’m not going to lie, the treatment was long and quite uncomfortable. I’m quite a flincher so the process of lifting them was slightly unnerving for me. It genuinely felt like my eyelashes were being glued back against my eye lids. The beautian was lovely and made pleasant enough small talk but it didn’t make the experience any easier. I was warned not to open my eyes at all during the treatment because of the glue however there were times when you felt like your eyelids were being peeled open as a result of the lashes being ‘lifted’ from the root.

Now and again I would feel the glue and it smelt so strong it was a bit nauseating.

After what felt like a lifetime the two plastic eye sheets which lift your lashes are peeled off (FYI it fucking hurts) and the beautian asks you to open your eyes.

On opening my eyes I felt like I was trying to open them in water or I was coming out of the womb again, it wasn’t particularly pleasant. The glue residue was still around and it stung like an utter bitch. After struggling to open my eyes for a good ten minutes I could finally see again but my eyes felt so heavy!

I was advised not to get my lashes wet for at least 24 hours so they would last for at least 4-6 weeks.

Anyway here’s the result pictures, they were pretty good after the treatment!

However, in terms of longevity it didn’t last four weeks. It lasted about two until it started going clumpy and then after three weeks they were just hideous and I had to start using mascara again.

Here is a picture of me on a night out approximately four weeks after the treatment.

All in all, although my eyelashes looked really good for about two and a half weeks I wouldn’t splash out on the treatment again. It was far too costly and quite an unpleasant experience but that’s just my opinion!
