We’ve all been in that situation; you’ve had a crappy day, nothing’s gone your way, you have a million and one things on your mind. Whatever has happened you’re feeling at your wits end and just want to curl up into a ball.
Personally, since I started redecorating my new home I get like this probably every couple of days! So I thought today I would share with you lot some of the ways I relax and de-stress when I’m feeling like shit.
Read things that make you happy
For me, getting cosy in bed with the latest issue of Women’s Health really calms me down. I don’t know if it’s my love of health and fitness or just the glossy pages but nevertheless it always does the trick!
Give yourself a little treat
Now I’m not saying go full out and order yourself a massive Chinese takeaway (I’ve totally done that in the past…) as even though you may think it will help it will probably just leave you feeling shit and it’s not the most balanced approach to dealing with stress. Instead give yourself a little something you fancy that will give you the sugar high you need without going overboard, for example, a yummy hot chocolate. The one above is from Hotel Chocolat and yep it really is that sexy.
Take a walk
I love the park, it’s probably one of them places that I’ll always go to when I’m feeling down as it holds so many happy childhood memories for me. After a thirty walk around I always find myself in a better mood.
Have a long soak
Oh yeah, the good stuff! Give me a bath full of bubbles, a nice candle and some good products and I’m set! Personally, this is my all time favourite way to relax after a hard day! Soak the world away with some hot and steamy water therapy. My favourite products to use are Jo Malone Candles because they smell amazing and the Sanctuary Foaming Bath Soak as it contains wheat proteins which leave your skin moisturised and soft.
