As you guys are probably aware by now this year I’ve been aiming to live a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
As it’s been half a year since I set myself this goal it thought it was about time I shared with all the tips that have helped me maintain this new lifestyle I have embraced this year.
Drink water This is something I learnt from my mother, she always carried a bottle of water with her wherever she went. Its the healthiest and cheapest moisturizer you could ever want. It’s also brilliant at keeping your body hydrated and feeling fresh.
Get a good night’s sleep This is simple if you don’t get enough sleep, you will feel like shit the next day. I aim for 8 hours a night.
Experiment with food (particularly breakfast!) In the mornings, everyone is rushing around. So people tend to gobble down a bowl of shitty, sugary cereal that will leave you feeling hungry again by 10am. Breakfast is important, so please try to eat something that can fuel you up properly. I wrote a blog post awhile back on my fave breakfasts but my absolute fave is avocado on toast. It takes under 10 minutes in the morning and is SOOOO good for your tummy.
Exercise I don’t mean go to the gym and do an hour of cardio (who has time for that shit?) I mean walking to work instead of driving, taking the stairs rather than the escalator. Maybe walking to your local supermarket rather than driving or having a wander around the park on a sunny day. Simple, everyday exercise that most people forget about. Every little helps!
Don’t think negative if you have a naughty treat (or day…) You’re only human! You’re allowed to eat a bar of chocolate or have a sexy carby pizza from Ask Italian. You’re a real person, you’re not a hamster, you can’t live off seeds. So have the odd treat that’s all part of a balanced healthy lifestyle, the most unhealthy thing would be if you worried and felt guilty about it. Go out and Live!
