So this week hasn’t been the healthiest of weeks in my culinary life. Hey! It’s my birthday!
I’ve eaten healthy and I’ve eaten not so healthy but I guess that’s just part of this journey of finding a balanced diet. Nevertheless, I still decided it’d be a good idea to give you guys an idea of what I eat since I started my healthy and balanced eating mantra this year. As even when your eating healthy to deserve to have fun and let loose on your birthday.
On Thursday we didn’t end up eating until about half nine or something ridiculous like that (You’ll see why in a few photos time). Anyway we went for a chickpea masala with a Welsh fave half and half! (Half rice, half chips) I know, double carbs! However, I had just been to the gym twice in one day and needed to refuel my body! It’s all about portion sizes!
On Wednesday I reverted back to an old childhood fave, bangers and mash! I guess my birthday made me wanna feel childish! This time we made s healthier version by using sweet potato instead of potato and adding asparagus.
Chocolate for breakfast! Well, it was my birthday! This is my healthy chocolate lovers breakfast which is perfect for chocoholics like myself! I did a previous blog post on how to make it if you guys wanna check it out. I promise it takes no time or effort at all!
My stomach was feeling a little funny after my birthday shenanigans so I fuelled my body up properly with porridge made from almond milk and I popped in a few raspberries for taste and a dollop of almond butter.
Now please don’t think I skipped dinner on Tuesday and just drank! I actually went to Las Iguanas for dinner but didn’t take any pictures! I just wanted to show that you can drink and be balanced (everything in moderation) I’m drinking a little more this week as its my birthday but as long as you balance it out with your water intake it’s fine.
To start the week off right I had avocado on toast and a lovely cuppa. Bliss!
Thursday’s Snack/Treat (insert face palm)
Trust me to end with booze and chocolate! I promise you it was a completely spontaneous treat that my boyfriend suggested. As a treat we had a few of my bday chocies and one bottle of cider in the garden, you know to finish the week in style!
Well, that’s it I hope this food diary has been insightful to you or given you some ideas and I hope you all have a nice bank holiday!
