Sunny Sunday’s at Pettigrew’s

So if you live in the UK you’ll have noticed the freaky weather we’ve been having recently. One moment it’s incredibly gorgeous and the next its hammering down with rain.

This Sunday it happened to be stunning outside so me, the boyfriend and a mate of ours all met up in Cardiff for the day for a gentle stroll in the park and some Sunday treats.

The sun was scorching out and after having a little walk around, we sat down and caught some rays (with UV protection, of course).
All that sunbathing made us a bit ravenous so we stopped off at my favourite tea rooms at the entrance of Bute Park, Pettigrew Tea Rooms.

Pettigrew’s as I affectionately refer to it, is a gorgeous little traditional tea room which makes scrumptious afternoon tea’s, little lunches and delicate cakes. Oh! Their cakes, I mean their cakes are amazing. They make them fresh on site and have options for even the fussiest of eaters. My favourite’s are their home made scones because they give a ma-hoo-sive amount of fresh cream  and jam with them.

On this day, I opted for the Victoria Sponge just because I felt this particularly sunny day was the perfect day for some Victoria Sponge. In the pictures it looks as if I got the teeniest portion ever, whereas their portions are actually huge and I was just a greedy guts who couldn’t wait until I’d taken a picture. My bad..

Pettigrew’s also has an extensive array of tea’s on offer, so on Sunday I went for the Jasmine Pearls tea. It was very crisp and refreshing but nothing will ever beat a cup of good ole’ English Breakfast Tea!

Anyways, I hope you guys had a lovely day in the sun as well and I shall see you next time!
