Yep that’s right, it’s that time again. Time to bundle together all my doings and faves from the past week. I apologise for how ridiculously late this post is, I’ve been so busy with a work event that we had today I genuinely didn’t have a second to spare!
Attempts at being healthy
Healthy eating has been a bit of a roller coaster this week with us getting back from Salisbury on Monday evening and trying to sort everything out. It was a case of literally eating whatever was in the house (hello, chicken nugget sandwich!)
I also have a new fave naughty treat in the form of the Lindt Lindor Strawberries and Cream. We got a box from a hotel we stayed in during our time in Salisbury and have spent the past week with the box glued to my hands (so addictive!)
On the Tuesday things were looking up, as we cooked a Sweet potato and red lentil dhal pie which tasted amazing! We found the recipe on the BBC Good Food Website and it was surprisingly easy considering it was on the BBC website (my history with their recipes is a tad complicated). If you guys are interested I’ll leave a link at the bottom!
And I took my own healthy packed lunch to work (once). However, on the Thursday I did have a greggs pasty for lunch and then I went out for food and drinks with the office…..
On Wednesday night, me and the boyfriend were once again healthy and had stir fry for tea, which was absolutely delicious! I can’t actually link you guys to any recipe for it as its one we just made up together during our time at uni but basically it’s fry a load of veg, loads of soy sauce and egg noodles. Delicious!
Attempts to be fitter
This week was a major fail in terms of exercising. I was so busy in work that I didn’t have enough time to do any of my usual classes. I did, however, manage to attempt a new abs routine using TRX bands. I felt like I was going to throw up all the way through the routine, but I’m determined to perfect the TRX bands in time for the summer holidays.
To counteract our naughty weekends, Me and my gym buddy have started doing spin classes on Saturday mornings. We find its the perfect start to our weekends and helps make our desserts on Saturday that extra bit sweeter.
This week I’m loving
Yep! It’s happened. I have turned into homeware lover and I don’t even have my own home yet! The stuff in H&M is irresistible, absolutely perfect for a stylish and chic person without breaking the bank, perfect!
The Michalak Family Diaries
Watching YouTube videos is my guilty pleasure in life. For me, it’s like them awful reality tv programs that you can’t help but love. The Mich’s (as I nickname them) are a young family in London who are trying to start a business whilst raising their son. Their videos are unique as they capture their creative and hipster personalities whilst also showing footage of their son mucking about with some toys. It’s perfect viewing for anyone who’s a sucker when it comes to cute kids like me.
Now I’ved adored Ellie since her first ever song that came out when I was in Year 11 (yikes!) so to say I feel like a proud parent when I see how far she’s come now is a bit of an understatement. This week, my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to see perform in Cardiff as part of her world tour and I couldn’t be any more excited. Let it be known that there was mass hysteria in the kitchen when I found out!
Anyway that’s all for this Friday’s blogpost. I’m sorry it’s not up to usual standard but I promise to try harder next week! I hope you all had a gorgeous week and I shall see you very soon!
