So on Saturday I headed up to Selfridges and spent far too much money! I’ve been lusting after Charlotte Tilbury for so many months now and couldn’t think of a better time to treat myself than the previous weekend hence the slaughter of my bank balance.
The first product I got my mitts on was the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. Now, I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this foundation and couldn’t resist a little try. The make-up artist matched me up perfectly with Shade 3, not too fair not too medium and it was a perfect match, no doubt about that. She applied it to my face using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Complexion Brush and buffered it into my skin to give a flawless finish. I will admit it took a while for me to adjust to the whole ‘your skin but better’ look that the foundation produced but now I think it’s amazing.
Onto the Filmstar Bronze & Glow which I first fell in love with when I saw it mentioned in a few other beauty blogs. I’m not going to lie, it’s stunning and creates a effortless and natural glow on the face. The packaging itself is just beautiful as in true Tilbury style and also has tips from Charlotte herself. Although it’s quite prices it’s definitely worth it.
I then purchased the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Complexion Brush as I’ve never used a purely natural fibres brush and wanted to see what all the buzz was about. Not going to lie to you guys, in my opinion this brush wasn’t worth the pennies. When using it to apply my new foundation it just malted all over the place and wound me up. I ended up using my MAC Foundation Brush and blended the rest in with my fingers. So disappointing!
I also purchased a new pinky nude lipstick in the shade Amazing Grace and it is a stunning colour which perfectly suits my skin tone. It’s the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick and I think I prefer matte lipsticks to any other now. It’s so easy to apply and lasts ages. Once again, the packaging is superb with the gold and vintage lipstick case oozing glamour.
I also finally gave in and purchased an eyebrow primer from Urban Decay it was their Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original. I’ve been meaning to get an eyeshadow primer for ages and couldn’t decide which one would be best. After a little research I settled on this one as its meant to never crease (I know, I was happy too) I did use some on Saturday night. A little dab on the finger is all you need for both lids and it really does keep your eyeshadow on for ages!
I also purchased the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Cruella after lusting after it for so so long! It’s a very eye catching and bold colour but looks stunning when paired with a sexy black number (just saying!)
See you next time!
