To spice things up I thought I’d start doing a special Friday blog post where I talk about what I’ve been up to during this week and what I’m looking forward to this weekend. Just to spice things up a little on the ole’ blog front.
This week has been a series of ups and downs but mainly ups, I got a job interview at a publishing firm!
Of course, I also made a huge boob of myself at another job interview I had this week so swings and roundabouts, swings and roundabouts people!
Attempt at Being Fitter…
Moving on before I have flashbacks, I’ve also been trying my hand at healthier cooking and trying out different exercise classes. I already do boxercise and legs, bums and tums. But I’ve recently been trying different classes such as spinning and a toning class called aerotone. Just because I made a New Years resolution to make 2016 my fittest and healthiest year yet (I swear 13 year old Chelsea Is laughing her arse off at 21 year old Chelsea).
Attempt at Being Healthier…
In terms of healthy eating I’ve been trying to get back on track with exciting and healthy meals that will satisfy me and my fussy eater of a boyfriend.
As we both love Italian food like crazy I decided to make a low carb pasta dish and found a perfect recipe on The Londoner’s blog. I’ll put the link in below for you guys if you’re interested. What makes this pasta dish low carb is the fact that spaghetti is substituted with spiralized courgette. I must admit here I didn’t actually spiralize any courgette, instead I bought some already prepared from Marks and Spencer’s for a bargain price of £1! Must admit I might have made a bit too much sauce but it still tastes amazing! I might have failed a little in presentation but It’s definitely a recipe I’m going to attempt to make again soon.
For my lunch I’ve trying to have something different to plain old sandwiches so I’ve been experimenting with healthier alternatives. I’ve been making pitta chips and having them with quinoa and spinach. For today’s lunch I added sweetcorn into the mix. It’s tasty and healthy making it a win win for everyone.
Beauty Items I’m trying this week…
At the moment with me working out so much my skin has become a lot oilier and my pores have been more clogged (eurgh). To counter this problem I’ve started exfoliating my skin more frequently than I was beforehand (oops). The product I’ve been using is the Clinique Exfoliating Scrub, I was recommended this after a skin consultantion at the Clinique counter and thought I’d give it a try. Insert awful picture below.
This product just leaves my skin feeling so scruba dub clean that I feel like I’ve just had a facial or something. I would happily recommend it and think it’s brilliant value for your pennies!
This week I’ve also started using eye cream. I know I know I’m only 21 but recently I’ve noticed dark circles under my eyes and I panic bought some Clinique all about eyes rich cream whilst I was having my skin consultantion. I’ve only started using it this week but already I’m noticing the difference a few dabs of this stuff does to my dark circles. Hallelujah!
It’s a very creamy product which I prefer to a serum so it’s also right up my street. Interestingly enough, I was chatting to a beauty consultant at the benefit counter about eye cream and she said she started using it at 16! So you’re never too young people!
I’m really looking forward to this weekend as me and the boyfriend are off to watch the rugby tonight! (We live in Cardiff, Rugby is compulsory here). That means cider and a warm scarf! And probably all my healthy eating going out the window….
Tomorrow I believe we’re off to town so I can get a new hair dryer (mines currently my mums old one from the 90s). Then we might try somewhere new for food because I love trying new food places in the weekend. In the night, I might be off out for cocktails with some old work friends which will be lovely because we haven’t seen each other in ages!
Anyways I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I shall be back soon!
