lovely to see you again. I know I know, it’s been a long time coming but I am happy to say I am now back into blogging!
This can either make you happy or very miserable! If it’s the latter I’m very sorry just go back to watching Netflix or some shiz. However, if it’s the former…yay! Happy days! I’ve missed you very much.
I thought I’d kick things off by doing a rather seasonally inspired post. New Years resolutions! Come on, you know who you are! Everyone is guilty of attempting at least one resolution and I myself am no exception.
Anyway, getting into the old spirit of the new year (did you like my little play on words there?) I thought I’d share mine with you guys!
- Blog more, write more.
This one is fairly simple I know but since graduating uni and getting caught up in the soul crushing job search my writing has suffered tremendously. Nevertheless, over the Christmas period I’ve become ridiculously inspired by a female writer called Caitlyn Moran. She’s an amazing writer and awesome woman, and since reading her book ‘How to build a girl’ which is insanely funny by the way, I’ve once again been bitten by the writing bug! So here goes….
I’m planning on making 2016 my fittest and most active year yet! I did pretty well last year, went skiing for the first ever time (I had the bruised arse to prove it) I started boxing again and I even participated in my first ever 5k. Something I thought I’d never in a million years do! That in mind, I do wanna push myself further and attempt even more, no matter how much of a prat I make of myself! The important thing is to just try! I’ve already attempted my first spinning class so watch this space…
3. Finally attempt Stand Up
Now, let me just admit something to you guys. I have been obsessed with comedy since as long as I can remember. Whilst other kids we’re watching Disney Channel or MTV I was totally emersed in whatever was on UKTV Gold, probably Dinnerladies or Only Fools and Horses. In school I was never one of the pretty or even one of the ‘popular’ kids but as soon as I set foot on a stage and spoke, I was suddenly transformed from a zero to hero. It was amazing and since then I was always known as the funny girl in school. The idea of putting on a performance and making people laugh just seemed to make me feel electric, whether it was dressing up and taking the piss out of Cilla Black (RIP, Scouse legend) in a class assembly or being the cowardly lion in our primary school production, people would howl with laughter. Deep down, I’ve always wanted to be a comedian and a comedy writer. Of course, finding the balls to do something about it is another story. The fear of failing is the worst part, nevertheless this year I’ve decided to just bloody go for it. I’m 21 and the world is my oyster. Guys, I’m going fishing.
So anyway, there’s my New Years resolutions for this year. I know some of you might think they’re a tad boring or weird but I guess New Years resolutions are personally catered by us as individuals. Do any of you have goals you wish to achieve in 2016? I’d love to know, we could all motivate each other.
I hope you all had a beautiful time at Christmas and New Year and wish you all the luck in the world for 2016. Thank you for reading!
